30. A dog over 12 weeks of age must have direct, active and positive contact with humans, for a minimum of 30 minutes per day, alone or simultaneously with a few other animals, outside its place of confinement if the owner or custodian cannot physically enter that place, except in the case of a dog that has been declared dangerous or is in the process of being evaluated for the purpose of being declared dangerous under the Regulation respecting the application of the Act to promote the protection of persons by establishing a framework with regard to dogs (chapter P-38.002, r. 1) and being kept temporarily on premises where dogs are taken in with a view to transferring them to a new place of custody, euthanizing them or having them euthanized by a third person. A pup or a kitten 3 to 12 weeks of age must have direct, active and positive contact with humans for a minimum of 20 minutes, alone or simultaneously with a few other animals, twice a day.
Time spent maintaining the equipment and premises, as well as time required for feeding, may not be recorded for the purposes of the first and second paragraphs. The contact prescribed in this section may be recorded for the purposes of sections 28 and 29.
